Terms of use

This page is Steady's End User Licence Agreement. Plain versions of the things that have to be said — using Steady means agreeing to them.

Subscription at a glance

Title: Steady Pro
Length: One year, or one month, renewing automatically. 7-day free trial on the yearly plan.
Price: £59.99 a year (£5.00 a month) or £8.99 a month, in the currency of your App Store.
Renewal: Charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and again within 24 hours of the end of each period unless renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before it ends.
Cancelling: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Steady. Access runs to the end of the period you have paid for.

What Steady is

Steady is a practice tool for workplace conversations. The counterpart is generated by software. It is not a person, not a coach, and not a professional adviser, and nothing it says is advice about your specific situation, your employment, or anyone else's.

What Steady is not

It is not therapy, counselling, or crisis support, and it must not be used as a substitute for any of them. If a conversation in your life is about self-harm, abuse, or your safety, please talk to a person — the support page lists where to start.

It is also not an HR process. Practising a conversation here does not discharge any obligation you have to your employer, and a debrief is not a record of anything.

Your account and your device

There is no account. Your content lives on your device, which means you are responsible for it: if you delete the app, wipe the data, or lose the phone, the runs go with it and we have no copy to restore.

Acceptable use

Use Steady for its purpose. Do not use it to harass a real person, to generate content about someone that you then present as their words, to reverse-engineer or resell the service, or to break the law where you are.

Subscriptions and cancelling

Steady Pro is £59.99 a year or £8.99 a month, with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan. Payment is taken by Apple through your App Store account when the trial ends.

It renews automatically unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the period ends. You cancel in Settings on your iPhone, not here — cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access running until the current period is up. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms.

Availability and changes

Rooms depend on a network connection and on services we do not control, so Steady may be unavailable at times. We may change or remove features, and we may change the price — for an existing subscription, not before the end of the period you have paid for.

Liability

Steady is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for anything that follows a real conversation you had after practising here — an outcome at work, a relationship, a decision. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
